The ART1000 Team Project promotes teamwork, goal setting, problem
solving, education, healthy competition, and a public art exhibition
among young artists in three Starke County high schools.
The objective is to conduct a unique rural arts project that has the
potential to be recognized as a national model for replication due to
partial funding by the Northern Indiana Community Foundation,
Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, Indiana Arts Commission,
and National Endowment for the Arts. Thirty young artists from Oregon
Davis, North Judson-San Pierre, and Knox high schools will work in
teams to create large-scaled digital photomontage artwork that will be
judged by professional jurors, and exhibited in a public Art
Reception/Exhibition.
This project will also culminate in a traveling exhibition throughout
Starke County and will benefit approximately 6,450 families, including
1,292 youth by providing a rich cultural experience in a remote rural area.
Pre and post surveys will be conducted to evaluate the project success.
